ABOUT

Pixyboots
As the creative force behind Pixyboots, Adrienne Seet (b. Singapore, 1979) brings a multidisciplinary approach to art and storytelling, shaped by 20 years of experience in the film and television industry, from production to promotion to distribution in 4 continents. Her work bridges the visual and narrative arts, exploring complex societal themes through acrylic painting and print, as well as film and performance.
Pixyboots' method incorporates elements of Jungian archetypes, folktales, cubism, abstract expressionism, and impressionism in her work. Gathering together symbols and iconographies, Pixyboots' projects present new narratives that challenge societal norms. Realised in film and paint, her projects are calls to engage with the complexities of the human experience.
Pixyboots has a Bachelor's degree in Japanese studies and sociology, a Master's degree in film and TV, and has been a member of Kunstforening Oslo Syd and Drøbak Kunstforening. She has also been a photographer for the inaugural Singapore Biennale and exhibitions at Oslo Kunstforening and Galleri 31B.

My artistic practice delves into the intricacies of identity, relationships, and social structures. Themes such as gender politics, racial dynamics, and generational trauma are central to my work, along with an emphasis on self-love, communication, and challenging stereotypes about femininity and family.
